Good Buzz: LeafLink Partners with Last Prisoner Project
Presented By:
LeafLink is partnering with the Last Prisoner Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to cannabis-related criminal justice reform, to work to repair the harm done by the war on cannabis and build a brighter future for the community.
As cannabis leaders, LeafLink sees it as their responsibility to address the social inequity that exists within the industry. This partnership marks the start of an ongoing commitment and efforts to leverage brand reach and technology fuel positive change for the cannabis community.
What is the Last Prisoner Project?
Last Prisoner Project’s goal is to bring attention to the fundamental injustice inflicted upon those who have suffered criminal convictions related to cannabis and the consequences of those convictions. Through intervention, advocacy, and awareness campaigns, the Last Prisoner Project is working to redress the past and continuing harms of these unjust laws and policies.
"Last Prisoner Project is incredibly grateful to LeafLink for their support of our mission to release cannabis prisoners. Everybody who has the privilege of profiting from the legal cannabis industry should feel a moral imperative to help free those who are still incarcerated for cannabis. Last Prisoner Project commends LeafLink for being a part of the solution and doing their part to promote a more socially conscious industry."
- Last Prisoner Project Managing Director, Mary Bailey
How is LeafLink supporting this cause?
While LPP has partnered with individual cannabis brands and retailers in the past, the partnership with the online wholesaler relies on a new kind model that taps into the power of the LeafLink network. Now, the community of brands and retailers can give back directly through the LeafLink marketplace. Retailers can donate to Last Prisoner Project directly through a new button on the Order Confirmation page. Brands can access the same donation link through a button on the Seller Homepage.
