War Is A Racket - Russia Invades Ukraine
As I sit and watch what is taking place in Ukraine I can’t help but be reminded that we are going through the same motions as we did back in 2001 when America invaded Afghanistan to “wipe out terrorism”. Something we just witnessed to be a total failure as every eye tuned into their preferred news streaming network to see hordes of Afghani humans falling from airplanes as they took off.
Some Background
During the mid to late 90’s the US had been competing with other foreign oil companies to build a 890-mile natural gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to Pakistan, but due to the war torn nature of the region we could not get it done without the need of our military. However, there was no way our government could sell the public on this idea. Then September 11, 2001 happened which provided the US with the opportunity to use our military to pave the way for Big Oil’s long-sought Afghan oil route.
Russia Invades Ukraine
Now this is my personal cynicism comes in to play due to the fact that when it comes to politics the US foreign policy is based on the concept of “full-spectrum dominance,” which requires global US control of military, economic and political development.
Ukraine has large domestic reserves of oil and gas of which the exploitation would require considerable foreign investment. Enter the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline that has been an unstable project due many disagreements we have had with Russia.
So this morning’s news that Russia just attacked Ukraine and that we will, yet again, intervene because “the name of justice” made me sit back and say, “wait, what? We have seen this before.” Because we have. In Afghanistan.
War Is A Racket - An Epose of American Corporate Imperialism
So as we now watch Afghanistan 2.0 roll out and witness our nations youth be duped into becoming food for the war machine of “liberty and justice for all”, I ask that you take an hour out of your time to listen to Army Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler's expose of American Corporate Imperialism, War Is a Racket.
