Late Date: HRS Official

HRS Official, short for Human Recreational Services, launched back in August 2018 and is a footwear company founded by skateboarders Erik Ellington and Dennis Martin. Now after 7 months of watching them curate their Instagram while releasing more colorways and finishes of the Del Rey silhouette than their initial Luxe “Black Diamond” Loafer I am finally chiming in on the brand.

On a scale of 1 to need, I would put them around 7 personally. I love me a pair of loafers and these bad boys scratch every ounce of my wannabe fashionitso itch. However, retailing for $190-$200 a pair while appealing to a very niche crowd of skateboarder that not even Gravis (RIP) could stay afoot on. I wonder if their attempt of a champagne diet on a beer budget will work out or if this company will go the wayside of many before its time.

I have faith that Ellington knows what he is doing and so before they do potentially disappear, I am going gouge my next paycheck for a pair. Now the real question is, to Pink Lemonade or to Black Diamond? First world problems.
